It doesn’t bog you down with sophisticated 5v5 strategy or confusing regulations, but drops you into fast-paced 1v1 basketball action. Here, tremendous slam dunks and hard blocks will determine who the king is.
Matches are quite fast-paced. Within a fraction of a second, the dribbling, the shooting of three-pointers by jumping, and the charging in to steal the ball all occur.
BasketBros has a huge character system to unlock. All characters are based on actual-life basketball legends and have their own weird looks and their own unique strength and speed attributes.
There are different game modes that allow you to grind in Tournament mode, play online with other players, or call your best friend for a 1v1 match on the same keyboard.
The classic 2D pixel style is nice, but the movement and layups are really fluid and have a nice feel to the hit.
Arrow keys or W, A, S, D: Move, Jump, and Crouch/Defend.
Space or G key: Shoot/Block or Steal.
In intense matches, whoever jumps first is often at a disadvantage.
While holding the ball, lightly tap the shoot button and release it immediately. Your character will fake a shot. Opponents are easily fooled and jump up to block in mid-air. As soon as they are falling, you can calmly take a real shot or dash past them to dunk.
Do not go headlong into your opponent; you can be quickly outmanoeuvred.
Keep a good arm's length away from your opponent. When you see them jump, hit the jump button and the block button at the same time to send the ball flying.
BasketBros is a bit of an aggressive game! Sometimes, a close-range tackle and spamming the block button will send your opponent tumbling, providing you with an opportunity for a rapid counter-attack.
